Shibari bondage brings us to the “here and now” extremely effectively. The rope touches the body and soul, carrying energy similarly to our hands. Unlike them, it stays in place, expanding the range of places where we touch, where our intention remains imprinted on the body.
For the bound – the receiver – bondage brings grounding and affirmation of themselves on a physical level. It exposes them to a situation where they can surrender, stimulates their perception and feeling, allows them to sink into the body and find themselves in the landscape of “subspace”, where things happen without will. For the binders – the givers – on the other hand, it brings a confrontation with feelings of power, responsibility, leadership and control. It opens the way for them to a state of flow and mindfulness and inspires them to artistically portray the relationship to the body or between partners. The dose of attention that flows between the people of the binding couple is extremely nourishing.
No person does not have their own opinion about binding. In this workshop, you can test your opinion on shibari by meeting a real performance, kindly touch it, look at its teeth, or treat or transform it. Shibari will test your ability to communicate your wishes and boundaries.
In this workshop, we will work with clothes. We will discuss the basics of safety, methods of manipulating the rope and body during tying. You will learn the technique – a tie that hugs the body.
Come in pairs, with straight legs, to jump into the pleasure, polarity of roles and harmony that this practice offers. There will be room for your questions. Jute ropes, twisted specifically for shibari, will be available for rent and, in limited quantities, for purchase.
This workshop is for couples, meaning two people coming together (gender and relationship not important).
The price is per couple, you only need to purchase one ticket.
